What’s going on with the North East and the FCC Families Moving to the Hood?

I apologize for not being able to blog more this month, I’ve had many topics flood to mind at different times but not much time to articulate thoughts and put them down in words that make sense! So I thought I would give everyone a picture of what’s been happening in the month of August in the North East from the perspective of my camera phone!

We started the month of on 8-2 where we took one Saturday and spent the day in Butler MO. My mother and father in laws manage a small property down there where we are able to go fishing and yes do cannon balls from the side of the pontoon boat. It was probably the hottest day of the year with the heat index that day topping out at 104. It hasn’t been that warm since this summer. And on 8-4 there’s my wife working hard while she waits for her hair clients to finish processing. She works very hard at all she does and I thank God my wife and all she does for others and for our family! Not to mention she does a pretty good cannon ball!

In these two pictures the first one is a guy named Juan who hung the drywall at Dhallam’s home! Knocked out all the drywall for his home in a day and a half. I was so amazed. The second picture is just to show you on a work break what a bullet proof drive through window looks like at Taco Bell!

This is a picture of my girls which came to work with me, and Bobby and David finishing the plumbing on their upstairs shower!

8-10 I was able to catch an afternoon of fishing with my son out at the Petsch farm Ian was the winner he caught the most fish that day. 8-14The next picture is me taking a picture of Ian at my work while I did not pay attention to the sign, read it closely! Oops! It was take your 3rd - 8th graders to work and the girls were able to come the previous week but Ian wasn’t, so he came in at the end of my work day one day so that he could hang out with dad for a few hours at work!

Did I say how exhausted everyone is yet? 8-16 Here is the Petsch Crew working hard at it while Mrs. Dhallam begins painting the boys room! ‘Move in’ time is less than a week a way and it was wonderful working with everyone to get the job done! It’s been a blessing to work and get to know this family they are truly going after their goals!

This again is 8-16 and the whole crew is working hard painting and to the right Bobby is mudding away using is QDR (Qualiy Drywall & Remodeling Skills) to work as he does some final touch ups in the bathroom before paint!

8-17 Aaron has begun his “Free Style Walking” Olympic try-outs and although he didn’t make it to Beijing in 2008 he’s hopeful in 2012. He was showing us his moves on Dhallam’s back porch as he came up on the steps so fast we could barely see him, you can tell by the blur of the picture!

The Boys chillin at Shepherding Group before we get started on another work night!

Oh and I’ve been getting ready for the “Proclaim” Course @ FCC

Needless to say, I began to complain about this season of life a little to my wife, and she reminded me ever so gently that I had been praying for a long time that the Lord would send more people into the North East to bring the light of Christ into the darkness of this place, and He has answered. She reminded me of other answers that when I am praying for them and they get here I need to be prepared.

It’s not always exactly as you expect but God knows! Anytime I am complaining about God answering my prayer, as a friend reminded me at Church Wed evening, all sin is because my perspective, my focus is not where it should be upon Christ and the Cross. Thank you Shane for that reminder, it helps to keep in prayer, and in perspective the purpose of being here is not for us but it is for His glory and to see His name made Great in the city, and the Nation, and around the world!

Nevertheless, everyone’s been exhausted in our group, God is using this time to grind a large majority of our shepherding group to a fine powder so that we might be of use to Him, for His glory!
