Politics,The Gospel, & The Good Confession.
You can see that if you’ve read my last blog posting within comments, that there is still much disagreement amongst believers, even brothers. However Tim did a wonderful job of refocusing our eyes on that which is and should be the focal point of our daily lives, which is namely Jesus Christ. There is no politician that will save us from ourselves, and there is no salvation through political change. Tim, rightly put the perspective of the overly zealous Christian political activist in check, not undermining our moral responsibility to do what we must and be informed, but to rest in the sovereign hands of God’s purposes & plans for our nation. This said the only hope we have is in Christ and we must set our hearts here, and the only means for change is this, that the gospel go out amongst men, and God must regenerate hearts. I do not presently have the intestinal fortitude to continue the postings on the last ‘blog post comments’, however I think Tim’s sermon helps put things into proper perspective a great deal.
Have a listen to “The Good Confession” this is part one, there looks as if there will be a part two.
