Alan Keyes: Stop Obama or U.S. will cease to exist
I only on rare occasions discuss politics, however the current political climate I find myself more and more amazed on a daily basis. It is as if we have lost our minds in America, I rarely watch TV other than a Youtube clip I receive or something I can find online later when someone suggest I see it…. This was one of those youtube links someone sent me. Logical thinking and reason have flown out the door and we think we will fix our problems by going radically to the left, to radical communism. We are on that path. Let us pray for revival.

I have no conclusions only a sincere desire to seek God before persecution comes. I pray that we begin to pray now. Let this be a warning to the true church to quit playing church in America and to begin to pray.
James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
May we begin these things sooner than later!

I think Alan Keyes is at least partly right, but I think his message will largely fall on deaf ears, as it has for years. I think the times in which a real difference could be made have passed us by, and perhaps that’s how it has to be. God’s plan will work itself out, and perhaps He knows that we simply were not a people that were truly invested in making a difference while there was still time. That does not mean that we are not obliged both as Christians and as citizens, to continue to press for what is right, just, and consistent with Christian, and to some degree, American values. It just means that we need to understand that our efforts are made out of allegiance to God and the moral values that flow from His character and not because we will ultimately be successful in returning America to her former Glory.
It is sad to watch America fall from its position in the world, and it is sad to watch and know what evil will be unleashed as a result. But truth be told, this should be an exciting time for the Church. The wheat will be separated from the chaff, and God’s people will be afforded the opportunity to be used in magnificent ways for His glory and honor in the lives of people all over the United States who, for too long ,have been too fat and satisfied to give our gracious God the time of day. This goes for us Christians too of course, as we can all identify multiple areas in which we fall short in our daily walk.
But the circumstances we face in this nation may serve to strip away all of our comfortable conventions that we’ve built up with vast sums of public and private wealth. We might have to get to know each other. We might have to eat dinners together, grow food together, and minister to the unfortunate who’ve been left with nothing…together. In many ways, this may be a time when the Church has an opportunity thrust upon it, to blossom and flourish, for it’s when we really must rely on God as a result of circumstances, that God’s power and glory are manifest most in the world He’s created.
Personally, I think we should spend time praying for President Obama. Pray for wisdom of coruse, but also pray for a tenderness toward God and the things of God. I have no reason to affirm President Obama’s claim to Christ, but I have plenty of reason to possess a burden for his salvation. Also, I think Christians should begin serious conversations on matters relating to the rapidly changing environment in which we find ourselves. How will we as believers and as invdividual churches adapt to these changing times? It’s all well and good to admit and even declare that God is in control, but if such an admission and/or declaration becomes a synonym for putting one’s head into the sand, then I think we make a mistake and become fools. Relying upon God doesn’t mean ignoring the needs you will have. It merely means that you behave in a prudent manner, understanding that the ultimate outcome and resolution to individual circumstances are presided over and, in some sense, controlled by the one who created us and has shed his grace on us as individuals and on this land for hundreds of years.
So I think we have to start seriously discussing these issues, and how we can behave in a prudent manner with and an eye toward making a difference for the Kingdom. Hopefully that will happen. It’s my prayer that we will be burdened to be effective today and tomorrow, no matter the circumstances.
I don’t know if I actually answered the post directly or not. Maybe I’ll leave another comment later.
